What we mean by statute atelier
An atelier is a workshop where skilled practitioners refine work in daylight, with tools visible and decisions explained. LawDrive applies that ethos to legal advisory. When you arrive with a brief, we lay out the governing statutes on a folio map, mark the decision arcs, and walk through options until you can act — or consciously defer — with understanding.
We are not a volume practice chasing every practice area. We deepen advisory work where statute complexity meets commercial urgency: licensing, commercial contracts, workforce rules, cross-border structures, and resolution planning. Our practitioners combine in-house, private practice, and regulator-facing experience across Singapore and the region.
How we work with clients
Engagements begin with a counsel call to frame the brief and confirm fit. We then propose a folio scope — fixed fee for defined maps, hourly for exploratory questions, or retainer for ongoing advisory. Written advice uses plain language where possible and precise statutory terms where required. Reasonable follow-up on implementation is included because counsel only matters when organisations act on it.
We maintain deliberate capacity limits so each client receives partner-level attention rather than being routed through junior tiers. That means faster turnaround on urgent markups, direct access to the practitioner who mapped your statutes, and continuity when new questions arise from the same commercial relationship. For organisations with recurring needs, monthly retainers include scheduled counsel calls and priority response windows for time-sensitive contract reviews.
Our practitioners
LawDrive practitioners combine experience from Singapore law firms, in-house legal teams, and regulator-facing roles. They understand how boards consume advice, how operations teams implement compliance tasks, and how counterparties negotiate in real markets — not just how statutes read in textbooks. Continuing professional development focuses on the advisory areas we practise, keeping counsel current as agencies publish revisions and courts refine interpretive tests.
What shapes every folio
Clarity over volume
We would rather return a two-page option map you can act on than a fifty-page memo that obscures the decision.
Candour over comfort
When a proposed path carries regulatory or commercial risk, we say so plainly and suggest alternatives.
Continuity over churn
The practitioner who maps your statutes remains accountable for follow-up questions unless you agree otherwise in writing.
